The objective of the OPITO Basic H2S Training Course is to ensure that personnel working in environments where hydrogen sulfide (H2S) may be present are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect themselves.

Specifically, the course aims to:

1. Raise awareness of the hazards and properties of H2S gas, including its sources and potential risks in the work environment.

2. Train personnel in recognizing H2S gas warning systems, alarms, and the appropriate responses.

3. Provides hands-on experience in using H2S detection equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), such as breathing apparatus and gas monitors.
4. Teach emergency procedures for evacuating or protecting oneself in an H2S release scenario.
5. Ensure competencyin the use of Emergency Escape Breathing Devices (EEBD) and other lifesaving equipment relevant to H2S risk.

The overall goal is to enhance safety and preparedness in any operation where H2S could pose a threat.
