The objective of HERTM (Helideck Emergency Response Team Member) Further Training is to refresh and enhance the skills, knowledge, and competencies of personnel who are part of a Helideck Emergency Response Team (HERT).

This training aims to:

  1. Reinforce the understanding of roles and responsibilities in the event of a helicopter and or helideck emergency.
  2. Maintain and improve the ability to respond effectively to helicopter incidents, including fire and non-fire emergencies.
  3. Practice teamwork, communication, and coordination during emergency situations.
  4. Update participants on any changes to procedures, equipment, or regulations related to helicopter and helideck emergency response.
  5. Ensure HERT members retain competency in handling typical emergency scenarios, including the use of appropriate firefighting equipment and personal protective gear.

It is designed for individuals who have previously completed the initial HERTM training and need to refresh their skills to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Online Examination

TARGET AUDIENCE

For currently-appointed OPITO-certified
HERTMs that are required to revalidate
their OPITO HERTM certification by
refreshing and updating their knowledge
and skills in aspects of their role that they
cannot practice in the workplace

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners must meet basic medical fitness
requirements such as:


A. A valid, current offshore
medical certificate 

OR

B. An operator approved
medical certificate 

AND

C. Undergoes medical screening by
completing an appropriate medical
screening form provided by IMOSTI, Inc.

TRAINING PRE-REQUISITE

A. A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency
Response Team Member Training Certificate

OR

B. A valid OPITO HERTM Further Training Certificate
