The objective of the Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (OERTM) Initial Training Course is to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary to function effectively as part of an emergency response team in offshore environments.

The course typically aims to:

  1. Prepare participants to respond to emergency situations such as fires, gas releases, and other offshore emergencies.
  2. Teach the safe use of emergency response equipment such as breathing apparatus, firefighting gear, and communication tools.
  3. Develop teamwork and leadership skills to ensure efficient coordination during emergency response operations.
  4. Familiarize participants with emergency procedures and protocols in compliance with offshore safety regulations.
  5. Enable participants to perform search and rescue operations, fire containment, and casualty handling in emergency situations. 

The course ensures that participants are ready to respond effectively, minimizing risks and maximizing safety in the offshore environment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners must meet basic medical fitness requirements such as:

A. A valid, current offshore medical certificate

OR

B. An operator approved medical certificate

OR

C. Undergoes medical screening by
completing an appropriate medical
screening form provided by IMOSTI, Inc.
