The Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (T-BOSIET) course is designed to prepare individuals for offshore work, with a focus on tropical environments.

The primary objectives of the T-BOSIET course are:

1. Safety Induction

  • Understand offshore hazards, risks, and safety management systems.
  • Familiarize with offshore working environments, including safety rules and procedures.

2. Helicopter Safety and Escape:

  • Train participants on helicopter travel safety, including in-flight safety requirements and helicopter emergency procedures.
  • Provide practical training in Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), teaching participants how to safely escape from a helicopter after ditching.

3. Sea Survival and First Aid

  • Develop skills for surviving at sea, including the use of personal life-saving equipment.
  • Learn basic first aid and techniques for treating injuries in offshore environments.

4. Firefighting and Self-Rescue

  • Gain knowledge of firefighting equipment and procedures for tackling small fires.
  • Learn self-rescue techniques during emergency evacuations, including escape from smoke-filled environments.

 

The T-BOSIET course aims to equip offshore personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure their safety and the safety of others in emergency situations, enabling them to react appropriately and survive in challenging environments, particularly in tropical offshore locations.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners must meet basic medical fitness
requirements such as:

A. A valid, current offshore
medical certificate

OR

B. An employing company approved
medical certificate equivalent to an
offshore medical certificate

OR

C. Undergoes medical screening by
completing an appropriate medical
screening form provided by IMOSTI, Inc.
