The Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (T-BOSIET) with Emergency Breathing System (EBS) and Travel Safety by Boat (TSbB) course has several key objectives designed to prepare personnel for working in tropical offshore environments.

These include:

1. Safety Induction

  • Understand offshore hazards, risks, and safety management systems.
  • Familiarize with offshore working environments, including safety rules and procedures.

2. Helicopter Safety and Escape:

  • Train participants on helicopter travel safety, including in-flight safety requirements and helicopter emergency procedures.
  • Provide practical training in Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), teaching participants how to safely escape from a helicopter after ditching with the use of EBS.

3. Sea Survival and First Aid

  • Develop skills for surviving at sea, including the use of personal life-saving equipment.
  • Learn basic first aid and techniques for treating injuries in offshore environments.

4. Firefighting and Self-Rescue

  • Gain knowledge of firefighting equipment and procedures for tackling small fires.
  • Learn self-rescue techniques during emergency evacuations, including escape from smoke-filled environments.

 

5. Travel Safely by Boat (TSbB):

Provide knowledge and skills for safe marine transport, including pre-boarding checks, safety briefings, boarding procedures, and emergency protocols.

The overall objective of the T-BOSIET with EBS course is to ensure that offshore personnel have the competence and confidence to deal with safety-related situations and emergencies, thereby reducing risks and enhancing the safety culture in tropical offshore environments.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners must meet basic medical fitness requirements such as:

A. A valid, current offshore medical certificate

OR

B. An employing company approved medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate

OR

C. Undergoes medical screening by
completing an appropriate medical
screening form provided by IMOSTI, Inc.
