The Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (T-HUET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) course is designed to equip offshore workers with essential survival skills in case of a helicopter emergency over water.

The key objectives of the course are:

  1. Helicopter Safety Awareness: edures:

Educate participants on helicopter safety procedures and protocols during transit, including pre-flight briefings and safety equipment.

2. Emergency Response Training:

Train individuals in how to respond effectively in emergency situations, particularly those involving a helicopter ditching (controlled or uncontrolled landing on water).

 

3. Helicopter Underwater Escape:

Provide participants with the knowledge and skills to escape safely from a submerged helicopter, including techniques for exiting the aircraft, releasing seatbelts, and following emergency procedures.

 

4. Use of CA-EBS:

Teach participants how to properly don, operate, and breathe using the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) to improve chances of survival underwater.

 

5. Survival Techniques:

Equip individuals with basic sea survival techniques after escaping the helicopter, including the use of life jackets, life rafts, and rescue signaling methods.

 

This training is critical for ensuring the safety and preparedness of personnel traveling to offshore oil and gas installations, especially in tropical regions.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Individuals who are currently working in offshore oil and gas, renewable energy, or maritime industries in a tropical environment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners must meet basic medical fitness requirements such as:

A. Evidence of valid, current offshore medical certificate

OR

B. Possess an employing company approved medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate

AND

C. Undergoes medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form provided by the IMOSTI, Inc., and Be able to self-certify their fitness to train on the day of in-water HUET activities
