• Dynamic Positioning (DP) Basic Induction –

The training course is intended for marine deck officers and marine engineers who are interested in becoming operators of dynamic-positioned vessels. The trainees should be duly certified under the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) regulation as deck and engine officers.
The course provides the aspiring DP operators the basic principles and elements of a dynamic positioning system. These are the control systems, position reference systems, environment and ancillary sensors, power generation, and supply and propulsion. It outlines and explains the different operations and applications of the DP system.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical operation of the DP system. Practical exercises are performed using the desktop DP simulator. The trainee needs to pass the online examination and get a score of 70% or higher. A Certificate of Completion (COC) and a Nautical Institute (NI) DP logbook are issued to the trainee after completing the course.

• Dynamic Positioning (DP) Advanced Simulator –

The training course is for maritime professionals who have successfully completed DP Induction. This also means that they have completed a 60-day (minimum) familiarization onboard a DP vessel, which is reflected in their logbook.
The course focuses on the trainees’ core skills and knowledge of the DP system. In addition, the trainees need to pass the online examination and the practical assessment. This time, the aspiring DP operators have gained a 60-day watch keeping experience, aside from the DP Induction experience.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and exercises in a simulated environment. The practical exercises include the operation of the DP system and application of emergency procedures while introducing errors, faults, failures and alarms. A Certificate of Completion (COC) is earned at the end of the course.

• Ship Simulator Course (SSC) –

The training course enhances the operational skills and efficiency of navigating officers, as well as, the bridge team. It provides an analysis of the officers’ capabilities during critical operations, including behavioral patterns in decision-making or team management.
The course focuses on the use of high-value operational procedures in manual ship handling. Manual ship handling skills need to be practiced onshore and offshore, and are a must for berthing and un-berthing, anchor handling, towing and setting up vessels. Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and exercises on the ARI offshore maneuvering simulator. The practical exercises include the different scenarios for manual maneuvering, the twin-screw vessels and the azimuth thrusters. The Certificate of Completion (COC) and behavioral report are issued to the trainee after the completion of the course.

• Manual Ship Handling Course (MSHC)  –

The training course is intended for masters and deck officers who are operating both manual mode and dynamic positioned offshore vessels. The trainees should be certified by Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) or are in the process of obtaining an STCW certificate. Ship handling and navigational
watchkeeping experience is an advantage.
The course focuses on maneuvering offshore vessel, implementing bridge and emergency procedures, and promoting teamwork during crisis or when stressed. The trainees are also provided with basic knowledge on how Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessels operate.

• Offshore Ship Handling Course With Anchor Handling and Towing(OSCAHT) –

The training course is intended for masters and deck officers who are operating offshore vessels in manual mode, controlling dynamically-positioned vessels and working on anchor handling and towing vessels. The trainees should be certified by Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) or are in the process of obtaining an STCW certificate. Ship handling and navigational watchkeeping experience is an advantage. The course focuses on handling offshore vessels. The trainees are also provided with basic knowledge on how Dynamic Positioning (DP) vessels operate.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and the ARI offshore maneuvering and anchor-handling simulator. The practical exercises include manual maneuvering – twin-screw vessels and azimuth thrusters – and anchor handling. A Certificate of Completion (COC) is earned at the end of the course.

• Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET 5700) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who work and travel by helicopter to and from an offshore installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on hazard identification and control, safety regulations and management. Managing emergencies includes responding to a situation at sea through the use of survival equipment like suits and emergency breathing system. Proper procedures are identified and practiced using first aid techniques and basic firefighting equipment.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises include the use of the Helicopter Underwater Emergency Training (HUET) simulator, Emergency Breathing System (EBS) and sea survival training pool, transit suit and fire ground area, among others. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and the skills demonstration. A Certificate of Completion (COC) that is valid for four years and registered on OPITO Central Register is earned at the end of the course.

• Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training (T-BOSIET 5501) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who work and travel by helicopter to and from an offshore installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in the tropical areas. Tropical areas are the domains of Cancer and Capricorn, including areas with consistent water temperature of more than 15 degrees Celsius. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on hazard identification and control, safety regulations and management. Managing emergencies include responding to a situation at sea through the use of survival equipment like suits and emergency breathing system. Proper procedures are identified and practiced using first aid techniques and basic firefighting equipment.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. • Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET 5858) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who work in the offshore installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. All personnel joining the course should have a valid (in-date) BOSIET or T-BOSIET, or FOET or T-FOET certificate. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course is a refresher of BOSIET, which provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on helicopter safety and escape, firefighting and emergency first aid. They will also have the opportunity to practice their emergency response skills.
Training delivery uses short theoretical discussion and more of the practical exercises. Practical exercises include the use of the Helicopter Underwater Emergency Training (HUET) simulator, Emergency Breathing System (EBS) and sea survival training pool, transit suit and fire ground area, among others. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and the skills demonstration. This training course is intended for all personnel who work and travel by helicopter to and from an offshore oil and gas installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness on specific pre-flight and in-flight requirements. It also equips them with knowledge on safety and basic emergency response. Skills and procedure when travelling by helicopter and escaping it following ditching gets particular focus.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises include the use of Emergency Breathing System EBS) and transit suit; inflation of lifejacket and deployment of spay visor in water; and demonstration of helicopter escape procedure when it ditched or capsized. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the skills demonstration. A

• Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training(T-HUET 5195) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who work and travel by helicopter to and from an offshore oil and gas installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness on specific pre-flight and in-flight requirements. It also equips them with knowledge on safety and basic emergency response. Skills and procedure when travelling by helicopter and escaping it following ditching gets particular focus.

• Travel Safely by Boat Initial (TSbB 5605)-

This training course is intended for all personnel who work and travel by boat to and from an offshore oil and gas installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on safety and emergency response when travelling by boat from land to an offshore installation. Trainees who currently have a BOSIET or T-BOSIET, or FOET or T-FOET certificate are exempted from joining the life raft and sea survival exercise.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises include the use of the work vest, sea survival practice and the use of swing rope transfer from a simulated boat deck to a simulated fixed installation. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the skills demonstration. • Travel Safely by Boat Further (TSbB 5655)-

• Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS 5902)-

This training course is intended for all personnel who work and travel by helicopter to and from an offshore oil and gas installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in the United Kingdom (UK). All personnel joining the course should have a valid (in-date) BOSIET or T-BOSIET, FOET or T-FOET, or HUET or T-HUET certificate. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are
physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness on the basics and differences between a re-breather and a compressed air breathing system. They will also learn the benefit and proper use of compressed air breathing system during a helicopter emergency.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. One highlight is the use of the Mk50 lifejacket. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and the skills demonstration. A Certificate of Completion (COC) with no expiration and registered on OPITO Central Register is earned at the end of the course.

• Helideck Assistant Helideck Emergency Response Team
  Member (HDA-HERTM 7022) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who are and would become a Helideck Assistant (HDA), a role that requires helideck and helicopter emergency response training. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on safety and emergency response. Proper procedure in firefighting and other helideck emergency scenarios are identified and practiced.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises involve the Offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (OHLO) and other team members. The different exercises are the use of the handheld radio, familiarization with Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and the operation of fixed and mobile equipment for firefighting. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and the skills demonstration. A Certificate of Completion (COC) that is valid for four years and registered on OPITO Central Register is earned at the end of the course.

• Offshore Emergency Response Team Member
  (OERTM 4500) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who are and would become an OERTM. All personnel joining the course should have a valid (in-date) BOSIET or T-BOSIET, FOET or T-FOET certificate. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on safety and emergency response in the offshore installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. It also highlights the need for hazard identification and control, and implementation of proper procedure in firefighting and other offshore emergency scenarios.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises involve the Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader (OERTL) and other team members. The different exercises are the use of the handheld radio, familiarization with Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and the operation of mobile and foam branch equipment for firefighting. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and the skills demonstration. A Certificate of Completion (COC) that is valid for four years and registered on OPITO Central Register is earned at the end of the course.

• Offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (OHLO 7018)-

This training course is intended for all personnel who are and would become an OHLO. The personnel should be certified medically-fit to ensure that they are physically and mentally capable to participate in the practical exercises.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on regulations and guidelines for helideck operation, its physical characteristics, equipment and system, hazards and control, and meteorological requirements. Managing the Helideck Assistants (HDA’s) is part of the learning.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises include the use of radio checks, communication protocol, proper hand signals and physical check of the helideck. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and the skills demonstration. A Certificate of Completion (COC) that is valid for four years and registered on OPITO Central Register is earned at the end of the course.

• Basic Safety & Contingency Refresher (BSCR) –

This training course is intended for all personnel who work in the Norwegian continental shelf and European offshore region.
The course is the refresher of Basic Safety Emergency Preparedness (BSEP), which provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on safety standards set by the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF). It also promotes better and safer working environment and understanding the importance of social life, health and values.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion. The discussion focuses on health, safety and environment, principles of zero accident and safety in water. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination. A Certificate of Completion (COC) is earned at the end of the course.

• Basic Hydrogen Sulfide (BH2S)-

This training course is intended for all personnel who work in an offshore installation, platform, drill rig and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The course provides trainees the awareness and knowledge on hazards and potential physiological effects when exposed to H2S, and the proper measures to be taken during a hydrogen sulfide alarm or outbreak.
Training delivery uses theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Practical exercises include the use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and familiarity with H2S detection equipment. Completion of the course means that the trainees pass the written examination and skills demonstration. A Certificate of Completion (COC) is earned at the end of the course.

• International Minimum Industry Safety Training (IMIST) –

This online assessment determines the personnel’s awareness on safety standards that reduce risks and work incidents.
The assessment is in a series of questions. The questions are derived from the nine modules that cover hazardous substances, risk assessment, safe working environment, requirements to understanding processes and techniques to better work. At the end of the assessment, a summative report is provided to the trainee.
The passing mark is 100%. This means that the process is repeated until the trainee correctly answers all the assessment questions.
